This is how my relatives made their coffee, with sweet condensed milk. (I don't know where or how they came up with the preference, but I guarantee it was not from Vietnam.) When I grew old enough to be eligible to try it, I wasn't impressed. Coffee is coffee is undrinkable misery. I never pursued the drinking of coffee because the only way to choke the stuff back is with enough milk (sweet condensed, cream, regular, etc) and sugar to make it a "coffee milkshake".
Am I the only one to whom adding sugar to coffee makes it taste bitter? Only in iced coffee (which in this time of 'canicule' I make myself) I prefer to have some milk and sugar.

ReplyDeleteI don't know why I am listen as Anonymous, I am Tei.
DeleteI do agree, if I add sugar without milk or cream it does make coffee much more bitter.
