      I hope so! I'm an Aussie (we basically speak english in Aus) in Thailand who's trying to get better at Thai. I run into this comic a few times a week, I hope they don't think I'm a jerk for trying to practice my Thai!

    personal rule: if I understand language you speak I answer back in same language, if not I default to english

    also now to remember, if you speak my language broken enough, I might just answer in english because of assumption that you wouldnt understand fluent rural dialect
