  1. That happens to me all the time! Even in my native language. Sometimes I can think of a word in every language but that one.

    1. Same here. There has got to be a name for the phenomenon, but I can't remember it right now. :p

    3. Oh yes. Especially if you switch between languages several times every day.
For example I am watching an anime in japanese, then reading something in english and then I want to talk to someone in german (where I lived all my live) and forget simple words. Once I forgot Fernseher...

The trick is to not think about the thing you want to say. Instead think of... eating ice or whatever for a few seconds. Then, when the "moment" is over and a new started, your brain can load the word in process memory again. works 80%

  2. Ach, and I knew the German word, or I thought I did, but then I blanked looking at the comic! It's "praktisch" of course... :-)

    1. I chose it because it's a word I constantly forget...

  3. This is so true, and so annoying when it happens. One time I couldn't think of the word for "liability" in German, but then I couldn't even think of how to describe it or express myself in another way, so I ended up looking exactly like the main character in this comic. I was obviously traumatised by that because I still remember the exact word I was trying to say lol
