In Bulgaria we call it Нова Година, because it's an astronomical event and God has too many holidays to take care of, so we took this one off his hands.
As a child living in Germany, I was always confused when my parents announced that they were going to a Silvester party at the neighbor's. I was always thinking, "what does the cat have to do with it?" Thank you for the good laugh. I love your comics.
Happy New Year! Actually it is "Silvester", "Sylvester" is the guy with the big guns and too much botox in his face.
ReplyDeleteI read that both spellings are correct...
DeleteActually only "Silvester" is correct but "Sylvester" is a common mistake, you might have read the incorrect spelling on social media
DeleteIt's also called Silvestr here in Czech Republic :)
ReplyDeleteIn Poland we call it "Sylwester".

ReplyDeleteXD Thanks! Glad you like 'em
DeleteThat is so clever! I never would've thought that it would be taken that way (granted it is a comic) but that really cheered me up!
