I can't relay much to this comic. When you're outside in the snow, you are usually moving all the time (snow battle, building fortresses, snow people, etc) so you wouldn't get cold.
Only if it's packable snow ... early on in the season it's normally the powdery stuff, useless for fortresses and snowmen. KNOW YOUR SNOW.
I like to refer to this as "schadenfroid"
